What love looks like right around our home...

We had a lovely Valentine's Day. We bundled up inside our home since the outside here is so chilly and snowy. We had oysters and champagne, a fabulous dinner, chocolates, flowers, and lots of "I love yous." We got engaged three years ago on Valentine's day so for us it is an extra special holiday. We hope it was a warm and comforting time for you as well spent with those you love most in the world.

This is what it looked like around our neck of the woods...

This chocolate shop Mike found is fantastic! They make everything there and the chocolate cherry ones are the best. http://www.annedoreschocolates.com/

Mike shucking oysters. I helped with .5 of one.

I got roses, lilies, and tulips too. We have the most wonderful florist in KC. LOVE her! You can check her out here: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Westwood-Hills-KS/Absolute-Florist/166111639348?v=wall&ref=mf

She will yell at you about how to cut and care for each type of flower. But it is because she is right.

And of course Zooey got in on the fun as well with her special treats from the Barkery! They look good enough to eat don't they?

Side Note: We also watched part of one of the dog shows Monday on TV. The cattle dog never wins! The announcer always makes some remark about how they are difficult to own and that one needs a "strong alpha personality." Now, anyone who knows Zooey knows that's simply untrue!

Happy Mardi Gras to all of you as well! We are going out to the restaurant JAZZ here in KC. We plan on eating even more oysters (Our favorite! I know there are those of you out there who think they are gross. Ahem, Diana!), king cake, and of course wearing some beads and toasting with good friends!

Take some time to celebrate life today, no matter how you do it! But I recommend that it's with oysters :)

Cheers!
